Nadin Demmler was born in Leipzig, Germany on the 8th of August 1976. She focused on becoming a chef from a very young age completing her three year chefs’ apprenticeship at the Hotel Intercontinental, Leipzig in 1996.

During the period following her apprenticeship Nadin gained extensive experience in a number of Europe’s top restaurants. Listed among these are: Hotel Schloss Fuschl – Salzburg Austria (Chef Tournant), Anton Mosimanns’ Belfry – London (Nouvelle Cuisine) and Fischerzunft – Schaffhausen Switzerland – 1 Michelin Star (Euro-Asian Cuisine).

At the end of 2000, Nadin decided to broaden her international horizons and on the recommendation of a friend, left Europe for South Africa. Her South African career started at the prestigious Grande Roche Hotel in Paarl, where she focused on their pastry section in particular. It was also during this period that she met her husband to be and decided to move to South Africa for good.

After a brief stint at the well-respected Aubergine restaurant in Cape Town she joined The Table Bay Hotel as chef for the Conservatory restaurant. This was followed by 18 months at the internationally recognized & exclusive Ellerman House as well as two and a half years as Sous Chef at the world class Relais Chateaux, Cellars-Hohenort Hotel in Constantia, Cape Town.

It is during her period at the Cellars’ Greenhouse restaurant that the idea of starting an up-market cooking school for enthusiastic cooks and food aficionados started to germinate. And voila, Top Nosh was born.

Apart from running Top Nosh Nadin is a member of the Culinary Team SA training squad who will be participating in the 2012 Culinary Olympics.
